What doesn’t come as a surprise to the world of picture lovers and food-photo clickers, the ever so celebrated congregation of ‘image lovers’ better known as Instagram just reached 200 million users.
And what’s even better is it’s exponential growth over the past 6 months that accounted for 50 million users alone who joined the platform.
This pitted up against Twitter who posted a growth of only 2% and Facebook at -3%, Instagram has grown by almost 25%. Reddit catching up in the race at place number 2 with a 13%increase, followed by LinkedIn at position number 3 growing at 9%.
Some big number(s) there!
Further Instagram took to the monetising game by rolling out ads too.
Soon brands like Burberry, Adidas, Levi’s, Ben and Jerry’s joined the party as well.
Brands saw as much as tens and thousands of increase in followers post ads including ads by PayPal, Lexus and Macy’s.
How bright could be the imminent future for Instagram, all we got to do is wait and watch. Not forgetting to click, post and hashtag as well.
